About the Artist

Mercedez Hart is finishing her Bachelors of Arts in Studio Art at Agnes Scott College. She is currently working on a personal abstract photography series titled, “Recovery.” In this series on self-identity and exploration, she photographs paper in various arrangements and conditions to express her experience with resiliency, vulnerability and rebirth. After working on “Recovery,” she hopes to design a book compiling the photographs. Outside of school, she also has a portrait photography business where she works to capture those delicate moments when a forced pose falls in to a natural place. Outside of photography, she enjoys taking printmaking and painting classes.
