Storytelling & Blurred Lines

In “Recovery”, I use a standard black or white canvas as a background to unify the series and to keep the focus on the paper. In some photographs, I integrate the foreground with the background by blurring the lines between the paper and the canvas. I use focus as a type of mediator with my story. In some photographs, I give many details in a way that is explicit and in other photos, I give a pinch of detail and everything else is blurry. The story is always in the paper but I am not always willing to show the whole page.
